I'm Alison Ryan, literacy specialist and author of The Phonics Playbook.
Teaching reading and writing is my passion! I've worked in schools since 2005, in many different capacities: tutor, classroom teacher, reading interventionist, reading specialist, and Director of Curriculum & Instruction. I have a master's degree in literacy leadership, an ESL endorsement, am trained in Orton-Gillingham, and am CERI certified in Structured Literacy (C-SLCT)
Back in 2012, I saw a huge need for teacher-friendly resources that made it easy to implement research-based best practices. So I started Learning At The Primary Pond to share ideas and resources with other teachers.
Over a decade later, Learning At The Primary Pond serves teachers in many ways - through our phonics program, membership sites, and more.
